My trip to San Diego Comic-Con International this year was so much fun I almost forgot to post about it. On Sunday, July 23rd, from 3:15 to 4:45, I was part of a panel discussing SF legend Philip K. Dick.
This was the last time slot of the last day of the convention, but turnout and audience participation was awesome!
It was a full double-room, and we had more than enough questions from the audience to fill the Q&A time. I gave away five signed copies of Dreck to some of these audience members, which was exciting for me, sharing my PKD-inspired work with fellow fans.
The panel was organized by James Wasser, and the other panelists (all pictured) were Elizabeth Karr (producer of the film Radio Free Albemuth), John Alan Simon (director of Radio Free Albemuth), Charles Cameron Mitchell (PKD festival organizer, contributor to Mirromaze and PKD Otaku), Keith Giles (prolific author, theologian), and Daniel Gilbertson (screenwriter who worked with PKD).
I wasn’t able to get any video of this event myself, but I have been able to find a few snippets online, so here they are in order. (If you know where I can find any more video of this panel, please let me know in a comment!)
Bonus: At an earlier panel on writing for TV, games, and comics, my fellow PKD panelist Cam Mitchell got Alex de Campi, Marc Bernardin, Cliff Bleszinski, and Duncan Jones talking about Philip K. Dick for a few minutes, which was nice.
